It Started With Tango
In 2001, at the age of 19, Özgür discovered Argentine Tango.
What started as a fascination soon became a life-changing decision: to make Tango not simply a dance, but a way of life.
Over the following years, Tango took him around the world — from the dance floors of Buenos Aires to festivals, workshops and milongas in dozens of cities.
For seven years, Özgür lived and taught in Buenos Aires, immersing himself in the culture, music and everyday life of Tango.
Ilksun's Journey
Before Tango, Ilksun had already found her passion in dance. She was dancing and teaching Latin dances when she discovered Argentine Tango.
When we first met, she had been dancing Tango for only a year. What began as two dancers crossing paths gradually became a shared journey.
Since 2014, we have danced and taught together, learning from each other and developing our own way of understanding and sharing Tango.
Ilksun brings her own perspective, experience and sensitivity to the dance — shaped by her years as a dancer, teacher and partner.
Together, Tango became more than something we dance. It became a language we continue to explore, teach and live.
In 2014, our individual Tango journeys became one.
From that moment on, we chose to dance together, teach together and continue learning together. What started as a partnership on the dance floor gradually became a shared way of life.
Teaching as a couple has taught us that Tango is never just about one person. It is about listening, adapting, communicating and creating something together. Our different backgrounds and perspectives have become an essential part of the way we teach.
Today, we don't simply teach Tango together. We continue to discover it together.

Where We Are Today
Today, Vamos Dans brings our experience to dancers around the world through in-person classes, workshops and online education.
Based in İzmir, Türkiye and Basel, Switzerland, we continue to teach, perform and explore Argentine Tango — both on the dance floor and beyond it.
Our goal is simple: to help dancers understand Tango more deeply, develop their own voice and find the freedom to truly dance.
